The new Hawai'i Gun Laws can be complicated to understand. Hawai'i Firearm Academy makes it easy to comply with gun laws to acquire or carry a concealed gun.
The Honolulu Police Department has approved Ashli Kessler to teach the Basic Pistol Safety Course and the Concealed Carry Permit Course.
Ashli is a Lifetime National Rifle Association member and holds the following credentials.
1. Basic Pistol Instructor
2. Concealed Carry Weapon (CCW) Instructor
3. Chief Range Safety Officer Instructor.
Ashliʻs former career was as an International Ship Captain. She is an expert in Maritime Security, training various Security Officers aboard vessels and port facilities. Ashli has worked with many ships to set up a citadel (safe house) to protect the crews in high-risk waters.

WHAT TO BRING
We provide classroom instruction, range fees, targets, ammunition, eye and hearing protection, and firearms for the Hawai’i Basic Safety Handgun Course.
The first step in getting your Hawai’i license to carry is to take this class. The required material taught in class is very basic and easy to understand. The required shooting portion of the class is also very basic and focuses primarily on safe gun handling. Newer shooters often pass with ease. We will cover the application process in the class, so there is nothing you need to do before taking the class.
The Hawai’i license to carry is a 4-year license.
You need this class to obtain your concealed carry handgun license from the Hawai’i Police Department Firearm Division in Honolulu. It will allow you to carry a handgun open or concealed. The State of Hawai’i requires a minimum 6-hour class (not including range time) to obtain your Hawiilicense to carry. The average total class time, including classroom and range, is 2 hours. Hawai’i Firearm Academy is certified by the State of Hawaii to teach this required course.
